Man Utd’s transfer stance on Eduardo Camavinga as Red Devils close in on three signings

Manchester United are in the market for new recruits.

And one man who has been strongly linked with the club in recent weeks is Eduardo Camavinga.

The Rennes midfielder has impressed ever since bursting onto the seen in Ligue 1 and has gone on to represent France at the Nations League despite only being 18 years old.

Camavinga isn’t short of suitors and Paris Saint-Germain are said to be favourites to snap him up.

Last week Manchester United were reportedly preparing to make a quick bid to avoid missing out on the next big thing in football after Jude Bellingham slipped through the net.

But according to the Manchester Evening News, Camavinga isn’t actually that high up on the Red Devils’ wishlist at all.

In fact, after agreeing on a £72.9million transfer with Jadon Sancho, Manchester United have now turned their attention to Raphael Varane, who they hope to bring in at centre-back.

Varane has just one year left on his contract at Real Madrid and it seems the La Liga giants are open to the idea of cashing in on him.

The two midfielders reportedly on United’s wishlist, meanwhile, are West Ham’s England international Declan Rice and Tottenham’s Harry Winks.

Camavinga only has one year left on his current contract with Rennes, and the MEN claims his representatives at the Stellar Agency are the ones drumming up the speculation surrounding the 18-year-old.

Camavinga’s agent Jonathan Barnett recently suggested his client could be on the move this summer in a big-money switch.

“It is going to be harder. I’m expecting three or four very big deals of my own that will break a lot of records,” Barnett told the Athletic.

“Hopefully, they’ll come about. For the smaller clubs, I think there won’t be as many transfers. We have some very good players.

“We have probably the best young player in the world in Camavinga. We’ve got [Jack] Grealish. We’ve got [Ibrahima] Konate at Leipzig. But then I’ve got over 100 players.”
