FC Barcelona – La Liga: Dest: My strengths are my skills in attack, and now I can take more risks

Sergino Dest has enjoyed a promising debut season at Barcelona, and he has spoken of his development at the Catalan club, suggesting that his strengths lie in attacking areas, and this within Ronald Koeman‘s latest system change, he can take more risks.

Dest is currently playing his best football at Barcelona, which should be commended when you recall just how difficult he found the first leg of the Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain.

“The system is really good, and I think it adapts well to the whole team,” Dest explained.

“I think it suits me better because I have a man behind me, and I’m a player who likes to take risks.

“That’s how I play at my best, we’re winning and scoring a lot of goals.”

Ronald Koeman‘s switch to a 3-4-3/3-5-2 formation has been the catalyst for Dest‘s upturn in performances, and it’s become abundantly clear that he has given the defender full autonomy on how he approaches the attacking side of his game.

“That is something which suits me very well,” Dest added.

“Personally. I’m very happy with the system and I think I can grow in this position.”

On the other hand, Dest has also been able to work alongside Lionel Messi, assessing what he does well and how best to improve by watching him.

“I’m playing alongside the best, in training you can just watch him to see what he does, he’s incredible,” he continued.

“I try to learn from him, as well as my other teammates.
