Erik ten Hag has been told which players shouldn’t be a part of his Manchester United rebuild by former Red Devils defender Patrice Evra.

The incoming United boss watched his new team lose 1-0 to Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season and will now be very aware of the huge job he has on his hands at Old Trafford. Ten Hag is expected to launch his United revolution this summer with plenty of transfer activity expected to take place.

And Evra says the club will undergo a “dramatic change” during the summer transfer window, as he told Ten Hag the sort of players he needs to sell and the character needed within the squad to take them forward. It comes as Manchester United players are said to know the identity of the player who has been “targeting” Harry Maguire by leaking dressing room secrets this season.

And he has told Ten Hag he needs to bring in players who are going to “fight for this badge” in order to get United back among Europe’s elite sides.

‘Most players’ are now said to believe they know who was behind the leak. The attack on Maguire is said to have added a ‘level of distrust’ within United’s dressing room.

Talking points from Palace

Crystal Palace beat Manchester United for the first time at home since 1991, with Wilfried Zaha’s goal ensuring his old side one final setback of a disappointing season.

But thanks to West Ham’s loss to Brighton, the Red Devils, who were watched by new manager Erik Ten Hag, were able to avoid the shame of playing in the Europa Conference League next season. It was a game full of talking points, including Ten Hag’s attendance, the beginning of the Red Devils’ rebuild and Hannibal Mejbri’s first Premier League start.
