The Blues are pushing to sign targets as they aim to reinforce their squad in a bid to retain the Premier League title and win their first Champions League trophy.

So far, Scott Carson is the only permanent first-team signing at the Etihad Stadium.

But the club continue to be linked with a sensational double swoop for Tottenham striker Harry Kane and Jack Grealish.

Man City are reportedly tracking Lille defender Sven Botman

Sven Botman interest

City are among several clubs tracking Lille defender Sven Botman, L’Equipe’s print edition claims.

Botman, 21, starred for Lille last season as the club beat Paris Saint-Germain to secure an unlikely Ligue 1 title.

He was an ever-present in the Lille side, making 47 appearances in all competitions.

But he could be on the move yet again this summer, just a year after signing a five-year deal from Ajax.

Lille will reportedly demand €50m (£42.7m) for the centre back’s services, with West Ham and Newcastle also said to be interested.

However, central defence doesn’t appear to be a priority position for City to strengthen right now, largely due to the form of Ruben Dias and John Stones.

City have submitted a British record £100m offer for the exciting playmaker.
