Real Madrid – La Liga: Another Kroos masterclass

It was Vincius‘ big night as he was finally rewarded by fate for his his indomitable character, which is why his long-awaited brace deserves to be widely praised.

Yet the real dazzling display of precision and authority came from Toni Kroos, who bossed the game. All that is needed is to cut the display into 45 two-minute videos and upload them to social media and watch them go viral. What a show!

From the centre of the battlefield he displayed his immense repertoire with intelligence, calm, subtlety, elegance and with 50-yard passes like the one he put on a plate for Vinicius for the first goal.

With surgical precision, he punished the Reds by picking out pinpoint balls in behind the defence for Vinicius, Marco Asensio and Karim Benzema to feast on.

Madrid began to win the battle due to the intelligence of the German maestro who, at all times, knew what to do at the right moment.

His display against Liverpool was probably one of the best games of the best season from Kroos, who is quite possibly the best midfielder in the world.

His understanding of the game dwarfs his opponents, who at times seem like apprentices in comparison.

As it happened with Cristiano Ronaldo, it is scary to think what life will be like at Real Madrid the day that neither Kroos nor Luka Modric are there.

Together with Casemiro, they are undoubtedly one of the best midfield trios in Los Blancos history.
