Foden beat the likes of City team-mate Ruben Dias, who went on to win the Player of the Season award, as well as Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Illan Meslier, Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka.
The 21-year-old was involved in 14 Premier League goals in 17 starts and 11 substitute appearances across the campaign.

He broke through after being given his chance in the side by Pep Guardiola – who helped City complete a clean sweep by winning the Manager of the Season award.
Foden established himself as a key member of the City midfield following the departure of David Silva.
Foden becomes the second recipient of the award, presented to the best player aged 23 or younger, after Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold won the prize last season.
Fans claimed Kane was ‘robbed’ for not getting the award over the Manchester City defender
Not everybody has been happy with City dominating the awards however, with plenty of fans expressing their frustration to see the main honour go to Dias over the likes of Premier League top scorer and assist-maker Harry Kane.
One fan tweeted: ‘Harry Kane ROBBED, Dias impact has been so overstated he’s been nowhere Van Dijk levels, Harry Kane led the league in goals AND assists’
Another supporter posted: ‘Ruben Dias PL player of the season? Harry Kane brutally robbed.’
Meanwhile, one fan added: ‘Ruben Dias winning PL POTS over PL top goal scorer and playmaker Harry Kane is the biggest joke I’ve ever witnessed. Most overrated defender in the world.’
