Outcome of Kessie renewal saga should be concluded before 2022

The matter of Franck Kessie’s renewal is expected to be decided one way or another by the end of the calendar year, according to a report.

Paolo Maldini spoke before Juventus-Milan on Sunday and revealed that talks with Kessie’s agent George Atangana have been going on for a year and a half, but an agreement has not yet arrived in that time meaning there is still clearly a distance between the two sides.

The negotiation appears decidedly complicated, but today’s edition of La Repubblica (via MilanLive) writes that it could be concluded positively before the end of the year. From the beginning of 2022 the Ivorian could sign for another club on a pre-contract, which probably explains the urgency from the club.

The 24-year-old spoke at the Tokyo Olympics and publicly declared that he wanted to renew his contract and that there was no doubt about the outcome, but yet a signature has not arrived.

In the meantime several clubs have been credited with interest including PSG and a host of Premier League sides.
