Manchester United have just one game left of their worst ever season in Premier League history and shortly after their showdown with Crystal Palace on Sunday, new boss Erik ten Hag is set to take charge.

But as he continues finishing his business with Ajax, Paul Pogba’s agent has held talks with Juventus over a proposed return to Turin for the Frenchman, while his potential replacement in Christian Eriksen has given an update regarding his future beyond this season.

Juventus hold talks with Pogba’s agent

Paul Pogba’s agent held talks with Juventus on Monday over a potential move back to Serie A for the midfielder upon the expiry of his Man Utd contract at the end of the season, bringing an end to his second spell at Old Trafford.

Pogba has been set on seeking pastures new following the conclusion of the current campaign after rejecting a new and improved contract offer from the Red Devils last summer, and now he could sign for Juventus for a second time.

According to Sky Sports, the Turin-based club invited Pogba’s agent, Rafael Pimenta, for talks on Monday and although they can’t offer the Frenchman the same financial package, they are hoping that he will buy into their project for next season.

Eriksen gives future update amid Man Utd links

Brentford midfielder Christian Eriken has provided the latest update on his current situation and future ahead of him becoming a free agent once again at the end of the season, when his contract in west London is set to run out.

Man Utd are one of the clubs who are interested in securing Eriksen’s services, with the Danish international having made a remarkable comeback from cardiac arrest to heavily impress for the Bees in the Premier League in 2022.

Speaking to Viaplay , via Football365 , Eriksen said: “I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision. I would love to play Champions League football again. I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me.”

Released list to ‘break’ double figures

Man Utd’s are expected to break double figures in their released list as the club aim to clear out a host of names following a poor campaign and begin building for their new era under incoming Dutch manager Erik ten Hag.

The likes of Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Edinson Cavani and fourth-choice goalkeeper Lee Grant are all out-of-contract at the end of the season, and it is not anticipated that any will remain at the club beyond this summer.

A number of academy players will make up the rest of the list, but as reported by the Manchester Evening News , the Red Devils are expected to break double figures when they announce their list of released players at the end of the season.
