A move to Manchester United looks more likely for Cristiano Ronaldo than a return to Real Madrid, according to reports.
The Juventus star has been linked with a move away from Turin following his side’s exit from the Champions League.
Ronaldo has less than 18 months remaining on his deal which means the Italian giants could cash in this summer.
A move back to Madrid, where he spent nine years, has been touted over the past week.
But Los Blancos have their sights on either Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland which would rule them out of the race.
As a result Tuttosport in Italy report that Man Utd is looking a more viable option for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
Ronaldo spent six years at Old Trafford, winning three league titles and a Champions League, before moving to Spain.
But a magical return has long been mentioned and this summer could open the door for the Red Devils.
Ronaldo’s age and Juventus’ need to evolve under Andrea Pirlo has seen the forward criticised.
He responded with a hat-trick at the weekend and his manager has already claimed he pays no attention to the rumour mill.
Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has done little to quash speculation recently though as he refused to pour water on a potential return.
“Yes, it may be [true],” he told Sky in Italy , when asked about the rumours linking Ronaldo with a return to the Spanish capital.
“We know Cristiano, we know the person he is and everything he has done here.
“But now he’s a Juventus player and we must respect this.
“Now, let’s see what the future will be. I was lucky enough to coach him and he is very impressive. Right now, he’s helping Juventus.”
