Winding down, getting away from it all, that’s how Juan Cuadrado will be spending his 34th birthday.
In the season just concluded, Juan made 45 appearances, matching his record number of games in a single campaign – perhaps numbers to be expected from a player as comfortable playing full-back as he is midfielder or winger.
What’s more, his dazzling skills brought five goals, again equalling his personal best. Goals such as a late winner against Fiorentina in Serie A, or in the Italian Cup against Sampdoria a first ever goal with the shirt of Juve direct from a free-kick, or the unforgettable ‘Olimpico’ from the corner flag against Genoa.
As if that weren’t enough, add in seven assists in all competitions. Each moment lit up with his contagious smile.
