Cristiano Ronaldo comments on Man Utd as audacious Juventus swap deal rumours emerge

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move back to Manchester United, according to sensational reports from Italy.

The Juventus forward, 36, hasn’t confirmed his plans beyond this season amid claims he could leave Juventus and return to either Real Madrid or the Red Devils.

Manchester United have all but secured Champions League football next season following their win over Tottenham this weekend.

European football, in theory, means more money at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s disposal this summer and according to Calciomercato, via Sport Witness, Ronaldo is a transfer target as a result.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola suggested the Frenchman could leave United for Juventus ahead of the January transfer window.

No such deal transpired, but Pogba may look to force through a transfer when the season comes to a close.

Ronaldo meanwhile has discussed the idea of returning to United in the past, and dropped a huge hint he would back in 2014.

Speaking about the Old Trafford club, Ronaldo said: “I love Manchester. Everyone knows that. Manchester is in my heart. The supporters are amazing and I wish I can come back one day.”

Solskjaer has also spoken out about Ronaldo when asked which of his 1999 treble-winning Manchester United teammates he’d love to manage today.

After naming Roy Keane and Paul Scholes, Solskjaer said: “Don’t forget I played with Cristiano and he’s the best player in the world – so I wouldn’t mind having him in my team too.”
