Allegri: We still have many goals to achieve

Juventus are on the road midweek, travelling south to Salerno for Serie A Matchday 15’s fixture against Salernitana.

Ahead of Tuesday night’s encounter, scheduled for 20h45 at the Arechi Stadium, coach Massimiliano Allegri addressed the media in the pre-match press conference.

THE MATCH

“The match in Salerno will be complicated also because it is an away match. The approach will be important. We played a good match against Atalanta, however, we need to continue to work with serenity in order to do a little more.

“We need order, concreteness, and serenity in this order. Moments like this are part of our work, but we still have many goals to achieve. We need to find a way out of the storm.

“Salernitana also played a good match against Cagliari: it’s a team that has the physicality and a champion like Franck Ribery.”

PLAYER UPDATES

“Mattia De Sciglio is not ready yet. Weston McKennie’s injury shouldn’t be serious, instead we’ll see Federico Chiesa only after the holidays. Rodrigo Bentancur is better, he needed to recover after a very intense period. I’ve seen him more serene and fresh.

“Alvaro Morata played one of his best games of the season on Saturday, in every respect. He was one of the best on the pitch. Judgements must be given objectively on the performance, without preconceptions.

“We have scored little in comparison to the opportunities we’ve created. In a short time, the players will start scoring again and maybe we’ll see things from another perspective.

“Kaio Jorge is young – he is growing up and needs to gain experience. We also have other young guys with us who can help.

“Matias Soulé is with us, he is a technical and good player. At this moment, youthfulness is good to have, as it brings lightheartedness and freshness.

“At this moment we need everyone: Giorgio Chiellini’s experience, and those we are with us, their freshness too.

“Tomorrow we have to win, regardless of who will take to the field in a difficult match.”

LOOKING AHEAD

“We all would like to do something more, instead we have to be tidy, do our homework, and overcome this moment in the league. We will overcome it: we need to be calm and patient.

“There are no years of transition at Juventus. We are Juventus and we need ambition to get the most out of it. We are in the Round of 16 of the Champions League, the Italian Cup is still to be played, and we still have more to go in the league.”
