After Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in January there were several questions about whether he would keep faith with his predecessor’s core of Englishmen or was leaning more towards players with continental experience.
The German boss has gone for a blend of both and revitalised Chelsea’s performances.
The Blues have seen the biggest improvement at the back so it’s no surprise to see four defenders on our shortlist with Ben Chilwell, Reece James, Thiago Silva and Kurt Zouma all nominated, alongside midfield academy star Mason Mount.
Between them, Zouma and Silva have made 136 clearances – just under a third of the club’s total for the season while Mount, James and Chilwell have a total of 16 goal involvements between them.
