Transfer news LIVE: Chelsea ‘LAUNCH’ £88m Enzo Fernandez bid, Tottenham HIJACK Everton’s Danjuma move, Bellingham LATEST

Good morning football fans

Everton appear to have suffered another humiliation after Villarreal star Arnaut Danjuma was pinched out of their grasp by Tottenham, writes SunSport’s Tom Barclay.

The Toffees, who sacked Frank Lampard on Monday after eight defeats in nine matches, thought they had clinched the loan signing of Danjuma.

The 25-year-old had already undergone a medical with the Merseysiders during the weekend.

But with the paperwork yet to be signed off, Spurs snuck in at the 11th hour to steal the winger on a straight loan.

The Netherlands international travelled down to have his Tottenham medical on Tuesday and the deal until the of the season is expected to go through.

Meanwhile, Tottenham superstar Harry Kane is “open” to signing a new contract.

Kane is about to enter the final year of his deal in North London, which has raised concerns over his long-term future at his boyhood club.

Spurs’ worrying form, which currently has them in serious danger of missing out on the top four, isn’t likely to help their case for the striker to stay.

But The Athletic report that the 29-year-old will consider signing a contract extension if the “circumstances are right”.

The report adds that the North Londoners’ fortunes for the remainder of the season could prove key in the England captain’s decision.

And Chelsea are set to offer Thiago Silva a new contract after a raft of impressive performances.

According to The Times, the deal on offer would see Silva, 38, stay at Stamford Bridge beyond his 39th birthday.

The centre-back and wife Belle are said to have settled well in London and are happy to stick around.

Having featured for Brazil at the 2022 World Cup, the veteran remains as fit as ever – having made 30 appearances for club and country so far this season.

The ex-Paris Saint-Germain star wants to keep playing at the highest level beyond his 40th birthday.

Finally, Marcelo Bielsa has ripped into Everton’s “slow” squad as he laid out his transfer demands to replace sacked manager Frank Lampard.

As SunSport recently reported, Bielsa is a frontrunner and has held talks about the job with club chiefs.

The Argentinean tactician, axed by Leeds 11 months ago after ending the club’s 16-year exile from the Premier League, is open to the idea of a return to England.

However, the Daily Mail report the ex-Argentina boss has told the club’s board that that squad “is too slow to play the way he wants”.

And that if they want Bielsa to take over then “they must prioritise pace before the transfer window closes” this month.

The report adds that “if guarantees are not given over a plan to address his concerns, sources say there is a chance Bielsa will walk away from talks” with the Toffees.

It has also been claimed that “key figures within the Everton hierarchy remain admirers of their previous manager Sam Allardyce” and add that he “has held initial talks” over the job.
