Real Madrid: Real Madrid angry over challenge on Hazard

Eden Hazard was lucky to come away from Real Madrid’s match against Granada unscathed after being on the receiving end of a dangerous tackle just minutes after coming on.

Domingos Quina lunged in on the Belgian forward, catching him on his left shin, yet he was only shown a yellow card for the challenge.

The Real Madrid players wanted to see red for the Granada midfielder, and Zinedine Zidane was angered by the fact that neither referee Jesus Gil Manzano nor VAR viewed the tackle as a sending off.

Although the club recognise that Hazard has been underperforming this season, they do feel that he is unfairly targeted by opposition defenders and were concerned that he could have sustained a serious injury from the incident.

It wasn’t the ex-Chelsea man’s best performance, but he did assist Alvaro Odriozola for the third goal.
