‘He wanted to hurt me’ – Sevilla goalkeeper Dmitrovic attacked by fan during Europa League tie

He was already serving a national stadium ban in the Netherlands so should not have been in the Philips Stadium, but used a ticket bought by a friend.
UEFA opened a disciplinary case against PSV following the incident and the club could be sanctioned or fined.
The fan has also been banned from the area around the Philips Stadium for two years.
Sevilla goalkeeper Dmitrovic only started the match at late notice after regular No. 1 Yassine Bounou felt ill.
“I never saw anything like it,” Dmitrovic said afterwards.
“I’m not going to say what I really wanted to do [to the pitch invader]. I’m glad I was aware of where he was coming from and was able to stop him, otherwise other things could have happened.
“He wanted to hurt me. It’s a shame that something like this happens in football field. UEFA should do something, this has to stop.”
Six-time Europa League champions Sevilla will play Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the competition.
The first leg takes place on April 13.
Speaking about facing Sevilla, Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag said: “It is going to be tough, they are very experienced in the Europa League, won it so many times.
“I don’t know the team in detail but for me the most important is football and I don’t look forward to Sevilla. First, we have the international break and then three Premier League games so there is much time to focus on that so definitely so all the opponents are coming to this stage of the Europa League they are strong and you have to play your best football if you want to go through.”
Man Utd play Newcastle in their next game after the international break on Sunday, April 2.
