And Foden, who established himself as a first team regular, scored nine goals and assisted five more for Man City.

Perhaps his breakout moment came against Liverpool in February when he scored a sensational strike and assisted another in a convincing 4-1 victory.

He also produced superb displays against the likes of Chelsea and Southampton as Man City went on a ruthless winning run during the middle part of the season.

As well as his brilliant Premier League campaign, Foden also helped his side to a fourth successive Carabao Cup triumph.

And he played a key role in guiding Man City to the final of the Champions League, where they were eventually beaten by Chelsea.

Foden’s PFA award comes after teammate Ruben Dias was named the Premier League Player of the Year.

The Portuguese central defender was integral in City’s back line as they conceded just 32 goals in 38 games.

And in a clean sweep of awards, Guardiola was also named the Premier League Manager of the Year.

Meanwhile, Foden has now linked up with England as he looks to help Gareth Southgate’s side to glory at Euro 2020.

His arrival at the Three Lions camp comes just one week after the disappointment of losing in the Champions League.

All seven Man City and Chelsea players involved in that final have now joined the rest of the England squad.

However, none of them are expected to feature against Romania on Sunday night.
