Belgian footballer Thibaut Courtois and Israeli model Mishel Gerzig have been talking about their wedding plans and they have even invited Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
The celebrity couple have opened up about their special plans for the big day and also spoken about life in Madrid.
“We already have the date, a magical place. It will be a private, romantic and fun ceremony, with a big party where there will be music. We love to dance reggaeton,” Courtois and Gerzig told Vanity Fair.
“We have invited Florentino Perez to our wedding and we hope he can come.”
Courtois gets on with the boss
On his relationship with Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid, Courtois said he is on good terms with the club chief.
“I get along well. He’s the boss. He wants us to win. I like his style, he’s very close. He doesn’t miss a game, something I haven’t seen before in any manager,” said Courtois.
“He demands a lot from you, but he’s a great president. He has achieved everything. It’s not like we send each other WhatsApps, but we talk before and after the games.
“In the box, he always comes over to chat with Mishel, with the families of the other players,”
How the Courtois-Gerzig romance was born
Thibaut Courtois recalls his first date with Mishel Gerzig at the restaurant ‘Ten con Ten’.
“As soon as we saw each other in person we felt butterflies in our stomachs, or whatever you want to call it,” said Courtois.
Going out in Madrid is hard
In the interview the Real Madrid goalkeeper, who has been at the club since 2018, explains to Paloma Simon that it is hard for them to live a normal life in the Spanish capital.
“It’s hard for us to go incognito, yes. Walking down Gran Via? Complicated, even if we wear a cap and sunglasses. But we like to be spontaneous. We go with the flow,” said Courtois.

“I’m lucky to have played for great teams like Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, but Real Madrid is the best club in the world,” said Courtois.
“Wherever you go, everyone recognizes you and congratulates you if you have just won a title. It’s another level.”
