Declan Rice is set to snub interest from Chelsea in order to remain at West Ham this summer.

The Blues had been interested in bringing the England international back to the club after releasing him as a teenager in their youth academy. But reports state he is happy to give the Hammers one more season before seeking a blockbuster move away from the London Stadium.

It comes as prospective Chelsea owner Todd Boehly dropped a huge hint his takeover of the club is finally nearing completion following the 2-1 victory over Watford on the final day of the Premier League season. The result means the Blues have achieved their final challenge under Roman Abramovich after 19 years in charge of the club.

Rice snubs Blues return

Declan Rice will not leave West Ham this summer.

The 23-year-old has recently turned down a new contract with the London Stadium in a move which has cast doubt on his future with the club. But the midfielder has no desire to leave the Hammers this summer and will give them one more season before looking to sign for one of the Premier League’s top clubs.

It means Chelsea will not be able to bring Rice back to the club this summer and may have to look elsewhere to bring in the midfielder Thomas Tuchel desires.

Boehly hints at takeover completion

Todd Boehly’s actions following the 2-1 win over Watford hinted his takeover of the Blues is inching closer to completion.

The American billionaire is fronting a consortium which has agreed to purchase the Stamford Bridge outfit from Roman Abramovich for around £4billion. And, as noticed by football.london, Boehly was on the pitch at Stamford Bridge following the conclusion of the club’s final match of the season – a 2-1 win over relegated Watford.

It could mean Boehly’s takeover is due to be completed soon, with the deadline looming and the American being granted a rare level of access at the club already.

Abramovich era’s final achievement

Chelsea appear to have played their final game under Roman Abramovich.

Kai Havertz’s early tap-in had Chelsea in control until Dan Gosling headed home with two minutes on the clock as the Blues took on Watford. And it was Ross Barkley who fired the final goal of the Roman Abramovich era as Chelsea edged a 2-1 win to tie up a third-place Premier League finish.

And, per football.london, it means the final achievement of Abramovich’s reign was a third-place finish in the Premier League after 19 trophies in 19 years under the Russian.
