Real Madrid has had its eyes on Jude Bellingham for some time now. The Spanish and European champions began making moves towards the English midfielder’s signing a few months ago, with Los Blancos keen on replacing Casemiro with the Borussia Dortmund star.
However, with Bellingham having a stellar World Cup with England, the 19-year-old’s price tag has skyrocketed, meaning that Dortmund is likely to demand a significant fee for any transfer for the 19-year-old.
How much is Bellingham now worth?
If reports are to be believed, Bellingham could now be worth as much as 150 million euros. This is a price that Real Madrid will be unwilling to meet, especially after the pandemic, which has reduced the spending power of clubs around Europe.
While Real Madrid has the likes of Fede Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni to take over from midfield stalwarts Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, the Spanish team is also aware they will need to reinforce their midfield shortly.
Bellingham’s decision is key
One thing working for Real Madrid is the fact that Bellingham has refused to extend his contract with Borussia Dortmund.
This means the player will be a free agent come the summer of 2025, and while this is good news for the 35 times LaLiga Santander champions, they will also face competition from several teams with Liverpool the most likely suitor to rival Los Blancos for his signature.
