Following a successful spell in Germany with Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, Robert Lewandowski decided to move to Barcelona last summer in his bid to seek a change of scenery.

The Poland international even agreed to drop his salary demands despite being in top form in order to join the Blaugrana, who have been struggling financially after the COVID-19 outbreak.

Barcelona and Bayern Munich reached an agreement for the experienced striker to join the LaLiga Santander giants in exchange for 50 million euros.

Lewandowski put pen to paper on deal that will see him feature for Barcelona for the next three years with an option of a fourth.

“I am very happy to join Barcelona,” he noted back in the summer.

What is Lewandowski’s salary at Barcelona?

The Poland international was earning 23 million euros per season before taxes at Bayern Munich.

He agreed on a salary cut in order to join Barcelona, who are paying him around 17m euros before taxes.

This means that he is not even amongst the five highest-paid players in LaLiga Santander despite being one of the Spanish football top-flight’s main stars along with Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.
