Chelsea transfer round-up: Antonio Rudiger ‘no closer’ to new deal, Leicester eye Patson Daka

Following Chelsea’s Champions League triumph, manager Thomas Tuchel has said that the Blues will target “two or three” new signings this summer.

Speaking last month, Tuchel said: “Two or three could be very, very good. It’s a constant thing to never deny change.

“That you always bring new energy, new guys who question the old beliefs, who challenge everybody in the training and in matches, so I think it’s a good thing.

“We don’t need another seven and another complete turnover because it’s also our job to keep on improving, because we have still a young squad and it’s not about stealing from them the chance to prove it again that they are capable of growing and evolving.

“But we have some ideas, of course, to make the group stronger and I think this can always be a positive thing to challenge all of us.”

With that in mind, Mirror Football brings you the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Leicester to rival Chelsea and Liverpool for Daka

Leicester City are eyeing a move for RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka, who has also been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool.

The 22-year-old netted a total of 34 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for Salzburg last season and he could be on the move this summer for just £17m.

Leicester are searching for a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy and could rival Chelsea and Liverpool for his signature.

Daka is said to be open to a Premier League move and Leicester would be able to offer him a clear pathway to regular first-team football, which could give them the edge over their rivals.

Rudiger ‘no closer’ to agreeing Chelsea extension

Antonio Rudiger has become a key part of Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side, helping them win the Champions League last season.

However, the 28-year-old is out of contract next summer and, according to a report from the Athletic, he is ‘no closer’ to agreeing an extension.

The report claims he is after a four-year contract, but that no discussions will take place until after Euros are over.

Chelsea linked with Coman

Chelsea are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.

According to Sky in Germany, Coman wants to leave Bayern after being left ‘disappointed’ by their latest contract offer.

Coman is out of contract in 2023 and Bayern have been attempting to get him to extend his deal.

However, the report claims that talks have broken down, with Coman unhappy with the salary he has been offered.

The France international is also said to be keen on a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea and Manchester United named as clubs interested in his services.

The report does note that a move away from Bayern this summer is ‘unlikely’, given that he has two years left on his deal.
