Sergio Aguero’s remarkable FIFA rating journey following striker’s retirement

Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has announced his retirement from football today at the age of 33, due to health reasons.

The Argentinian forward left City to join Spanish giants FC Barcelona on a free transfer in the summer but wasn’t registered as a player officially straight away, which delayed his debut until October 17.

On October 30, Aguero had to be substituted in the first half of Blaugrana’s home match against Alaves, with the striker reporting chest pains. The former Atletico forward has been undergoing tests for the last three months and has not played another minute for the club during this time.

And on Wednesday, December 15, Aguero confirmed via a press conference that he will be retiring from professional football immediately, following advice from the club’s medical staff.

“I have decided to stop playing professional football, it is a very difficult moment,” announced Aguero. “The decision I have made, I have taken it for my health, because of the problem I had a month and a half ago.
