Sergiño Dest played his first El Clásico with fans present at the Camp Nou on Sunday in FC Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Sunday. The United States men’s national team player went the full 90 minutes and provided the assist to Sergio Agüero in stoppage time.
Positive performance by Dest
The United States international started the game in an offense role and in the second half he dropped back to defense. In the 25th minute of the match, Memphis Depay passed the ball to Dest, who had time and space to beat Courtois, but his shot from a few yards out was too high. This backfired really quick because David Alaba scored a fantastic goal to give Madrid the 1-0 lead in the 32nd minute of the match.
The United States men’s national team player redeemed himself with a late assist in stoppage time, but it was too late. This was Dest’s third Clásico since arriving at Barcelona last season and he has yet to beat Madrid in the most important game of the campaign.
