Real Madrid vs Barcelona 2021 | Clasico: Mariano reminisces about his Clasico goal: The last at the Bernabeu

Mariano Diaz sent the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu into a wild frenzy when he scored Real Madrid‘s second goal in a 2-0 win over Barcelona on March 1, 2020.

But little did he – or any of the fans present – realise what would come next, with the COVID-19 pandemic forcing the shutdown of football not long after.

The Clasico between Real Madrid and Barcelona last March is the last match that took place at the Bernabeu, with Los Blancos opting to play their football at the far smaller Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in order to carry out construction work on the Bernabeu in the absence of fans.

“Next… #ElClasico,” read the caption for Mariano‘s video, which was posted on Instagram.
