A number of senior Manchester United players reportedly believe that Bruno Fernandes’ ‘wasteful’ distribution is a ‘problem’.
The Portugal international has become one of United’s star players following his arrival from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020. But, like many of the club’s players, Fernandes has seen his form tail off this season and he has often cut a frustrated figure on the pitch as United’s season spiralled.
The view of Fernandes’ teammates regarding his form have now emerged – and it’s not good for the midfielder. It comes as Manchester United staff have made their stance on Hannibal Mejbri’s alleged bust-up with Alex Telles clear.
Meanwhile, Frenkie de Jong appears to have given the biggest hint yet over where his future lies after being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Fernandes ‘problem’ emerges
Bruno Fernandes’ ‘wasteful’ approach is reportedly seen as a ‘problem’ by some of his Manchester United teammates.
The Red Devils have had a wretched year and have now been put out of their misery following the culmination of their season with a 1-0 defeat to Crystal Palace last weekend. Fernandes was at fault for the only goal of the game, though, as he played a no-look pass to United’s centre-backs directly from a throw-in – which was latched onto by Palace’s Wilfried Zaha before he slotted home.
And it appears that incident is not the only one this season which will have frustrated his United teammates, with players said to see Fernandes’ passing as a ‘problem’.

Hannibal stance clear
Details continue to emerge about Hannibal Mejbri’s alleged bust-up with teammate Alex Telles.
The incident, which is said to have happened on the training pitch, occurred following the 4-0 loss to Brighton. But United staff appear to have made their feelings on the incident perfectly clear – with both Telles and Hannibal featuring in the final game of the season against Crystal Palace.
And it seems United could turn to Hannibal to give them the aggressive and combative edge that has been so sorely lacking this season.

De Jong transfer blow
Frenkie de Jong says he will “work hard to do better next season” after a disappointing season for Barcelona.
The comments hint the midfielder may want to remain with the Spanish outfit following reports linking him with a move to Manchester United this summer. Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag worked with De Jong at Ajax and is thought to be keen on reuniting with his former player.
But De Jong appears to have dropped the biggest hint yet that he will remain at Barcelona beyond the summer.
