Modric linked

Real Madrid ace Luka Modric is reportedly ready to snub interest from cash-rich Newcastle United in order to join Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

According to SuperDeporte, Modric is considering his options with his contract up at the end of the season and talks over an extension having stalled.

Kalvin Phillips blow

Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign Kalvin Phillips in next summer’s transfer window, according to reports.

Man City and Spurs are said to be monitoring the midfielder, who impressed for England in their run to the final at Euro 2020.

And City could be set to miss out on the player, with the Red Devils said to be ready to launch a £59m bid, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.

City make Ferran Torres decision

Ferran Torres will have to wait until next summer if he wants to secure a move away from Man City, it has been reported.

Barcelona are said to be keen to bring the Spain international to Camp Nou, but Marca reports that ‘the deal is a complicated one which won’t be resolved in January’.

It comes after Barca directors reportedly travelled to Manchester to negotiate the deal, but were unsuccessful.

The report adds that Manchester City don’t want to loan Torres out, and ‘a loan with an obligatory purchase option would not be possible given LaLiga rules’.
