Liga MX: Dani Alves big contract, small results, is he right for Pumas?

Dani Alves arrived at Pumas as the most attractive signing in recent years, but on the field, his performance has been discreet and has not shown real evidence of his talent.

The best way to get into a playing rhythm is on the field but since his arrival, Dani Alves has played three full league games and was only substituted in the friendly match against Barcelona.

Dani Alves’ adaptation to Mexican soccer

In his debut against Mazatln, the Universitarios tied 1-1 with a corner kick taken by him, in a match in which all his teammates looked at him with respect and looked forward to his contribution to the game but he just showed little to none effectiveness.

The strategy changed in the following matches, which led to less participation. The match against Monterrey was also a one-goal draw and there was not much to highlight from the Brazilian national team member.

Dani Alves looked desperate in the clsico against Amrica

The trip to Barcelona was costly for Pumas, who were humiliated 6-0 and made a trip that took its toll on them, as they were beaten by Amrica in the so-called ‘Clsico Capitalino’.

The guilas thrashed Pumas 3-0 in front of a large crowd at the Estadio Olmpico Universitario, in an atmosphere in which the auriazul fans gave their all to the Brazilian star.

He looks desperate

For several periods during the match, Dani Alves showed signs of desperation with his teammates, although he still had a discreet performance, which he acknowledged at the end, taking advantage of the networks to thank the fans for their support.

“Thank you all for your presence and support. Difficult moments make strong men…. It has always been like that. The race is continuous and the end is always an unknown. SEGUIMOSSSSSSSSSSS!!!”, posted Dani Alves on his Instagram account after the drubbing against Amrica.

“We are professionals at this. We must not look for excuses, but rather have a deep analysis from the coaching staff. We have to look for a solution quickly. This team knows how to overcome bad moments,” said coach Andrs Lillini at a press conference after the defeat.
