Jurgen Klopp rouses Liverpool ahead of latest attempt at Champions League “magic”

Jurgen Klopp says he’s “completely in the mood” for the “real Liverpool ” to stand up and be counted as he plots some more stunning Champions League “magic”.

The Reds boss believes a perfect performance against Real Madrid can deliver the 2-0 scoreline which would put his side into another semi final – and he insisted they have the talents to deliver it.

At the very least, Klopp has promised his side will go for it in a mouthwatering tie between the two clubs who have dominated this competition in recent seasons. And he insisted they have the tools to dismantle their rivals.

“We will not lose sight of how good we are. The talent we have. The magic in our dressing room,” he said. “We have the entire package at Liverpool.”

“For me it is about two giants, on the biggest stage, having the opportunity to compete. How cool is that? Let’s embrace it and attack it. ‘Vamos’, as a few of the players like to shout before kick-off,” he added.

“I am already completely in the mood for the game and that means whatever we want in this tie, we have to show tomorrow night on the pitch.

“We have to bring ourselves in the mood that we start believing in that again. If that happens, if we can see that it’s possible until tomorrow night then we have a chance.

“That’s exactly how we will go for it, if you want.”

Klopp has no further injury problems for the quarter final, though he admitted he would like an extra man…in the shape of the fans, who have been so spectacular in games like these.

His players, though, will try to harness their energy anyway. “My job and the job of the boys is to channel (the crowd’s) energy despite the forced distance.

“We know it’s still there, therefore we can still use it. It’s more of a challenge, of course, but since when did we ever do anything the easy way.”
