Hoeness: Barcelona should save themselves the effort of making another offer for Lewandowski

Bayern Munichare not making things easy for Barcelona when it comes to the negotiations for the signing of Robert Lewandowski.

The Bavarian side are not only demanding the payment of at least 50 million euros for the striker, but are also constantly issuing messages in opposition to the departure of the Poland international.

The latest to tighten the noose has been Uli Hoeness. The honorary president of Bayern Munich took aim at the latest offer from Barcelona.

“I don’t know anything about a new offer. But as things stand in Munich, what I have heard is that Barcelona should save themselves the effort of making another offer,” Hoeness said at a sports congress in Neuland.

Hoeness insisted that Lewandowski still has one more year left on his contract with the Bavarian club and that the plan is for him to see it through:

“I don’t make the decisions,” he went on. “But Bayern‘s words were clear.

“They said that Robert should honour his contract with Bayern Munich.

“I can’t imagine that there is any amount of money that would make them change their mind.”

Despite Bayern Munich‘s public stance, the player has already decided that he will play at the Camp Nou next season.

And this is what he has told Bayern Munich officials and directors, with whom he has spoken on several occasions over the last few weeks.

Barcelona are also confident of securing his signature and consider such statements as part of the negotiation, which they already knew would not be easy.
