The criminal division of Spain’s supreme court have determined that the trial for case known as the ‘Caso Neymar 2’ will be held in the city of Barcelona.
The trial will take place at the provincial court, with an appeal made by Brazilian company DIS dismissed. They had wanted the trial to take place in Madrid, but their claim was unsuccessful.
As a result of this decision, DIS will have to cover the costs associated with their appeal.
What is the ‘Caso Neymar 2’?
This case goes back to Neymar‘s signing for Barcelona in 2013.
DIS held the player’s rights and believe that they were paid less than they should have been.
They have alleged that Barcelona and Neymar‘s father hid the true figures of the operation behind other concepts, a claim which the courts in Barcelona will now have to resolve.
