FC Barcelona – La Liga: Pressure will pile on Barcelona in the league after Copa del Rey final

There may be extra pressure on Barcelona after their Copa del Rey final against Athletic Club on Saturday, as the Catalan giants could find themselves eight points off top spot in LaLiga Santander.

Barcelona won’t add any points to their tally this weekend due to their Copa duties, while both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid play in the league on Sunday. Los Rojiblancos will be up against basement side Eibar at 16:15 CET, while Los Blancos will play Getafe at 21:00 CET.

The following round of fixtures will be in midweek, and Barcelona will play after their top-of-the-table rivals. Real Madrid will face Cadiz on April 21 before Atletico host Huesca at 19:00 CET on April 22.

Should Los Rojiblancos and Los Blancos win both of their fixtures, they will be up to 73 and 72 points respectively, whilst Barcelona will be on 65 points ahead of their match at 22:00 CET on April 22 against Getafe.

Should both Atletico and Real Madrid win, Barcelona will play Los Azulones with the added pressure of being up to eight points behind the leaders.

Real Madrid always play first

In the next four round of fixtures that have a concrete date and time, Real Madrid will play before Barcelona in each of them, with Ronald Koeman‘s men knowing the task ahead before they even step out onto the pitch.
