To become confirmed as Barcelona president, Joan Laporta had to provide bank guarantees to LaLiga of close to 125 million euros, and some more details of how he did that have emerged.
It has been revealed that Laporta himself acted as a guarantor for 15 million euros, of which 10m euros are with the help of a friend whose identity remains hidden.
As per La Vanguardia on Sunday, a total of 60m euros has been guaranteed by directors, with half of that coming from Jaume Roures.
Meanwhile, Audax Renovables will back up 17.3 million (Jose Elias 9m euros and Eduard Romeu 8.3m euros), Antonio Escudero 1.3m euros and Jordi Llaurado 1m euros.
It is Laporta‘s 15m euro investment that is attracting the most interest, however, due to the secrecy of the money which has come from overseas.
