Ousmane Dembele is playing his best football since joining Barcelona and the forward owes Ronald Koeman a debt of gratitude for the faith he’s shown in him.
The Frenchman has become an influential player at the Camp Nou this campaign and has started regularly under the Dutchman. This has seen him now being called up to the France national team by Didier Deschamps for the first time in three years.
There’s been a change in attitude with the Frenchman and he’s totally committed to the cause. He’s managed to avoid injury until now and has benefitted in a change of tactics from Koeman and has made the difference in some big matches this season.
His stats are good but not his best in a Barcelona shirt. He currently has eight goals and four assists whereas in the 2018/19 season he notched 14 goals and eight assists.
The departure of Luis Suarez has also helped him secure a more important role in the side this campaign and he’s taking advantage of that.
