Dortmund respond to Haaland agent Raiola’s Barcelona trip

Borussia Dortmund wasted no time in making a statement after Erling Haaland’s father Alf-Inge and his agent Mino Raiola were reported to be in Barcelona to have a chat with Camp Nou president over the in-demand Norway striker’s immediate future. Dortmund sporting director reiterated the Bundesliga club’s stance that Haaland, a target for Barça, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and Manchester United, would be going precisely nowhere this summer.

“I spoke to Mino Raiola yesterday [Wednesday],” Zorc told Sky Sports. “We made our position abundantly clear.

Haaland is under contract at Dortmund until 2024 and despite a reported release clause in his contract of €75 million, the Bundesliga side are well aware that a bidding war for the prolific 20-year-old would be very beneficial with the Westfalenstadion like many other sporting institutions having been hit hard economically by the coronavirus pandemic. Still, the benefits of keeping a player on course to smash all manner of goal-scoring records are also numerous and Dortmund are, for now at least, intent on resisting any temptation to cash in particularly with the transfer market in a slump.

Raiola and Haaland in Madrid to see Florentino Pérez

However, it seems that Raiola begs to differ. The super-agent and Alf-Inge Haaland were spotted in Barcelona on Thursday morning, presumably ahead of talks with Barça president Joan Laporta, and by the afternoon the Haaland camp had reportedly touched down in Madrid with a final destination of Florentino Pérez’s office at the Bernabéu.
