Dest left with uncertain future as neither Milan nor Barcelona want to keep him

Barcelona have already made a decision regarding the future of Sergino Dest for when his loan deal expires at the end of the season, a report claims.

According to SPORT, Barca will not take Dest back once his loan at Milan ends next June. He joined the Rossoneri on a season-long loan deal that has an option to buy set at €20m, and it must be said that it seems unlikely that option will be exercised.

The USA international has only played eight games for Milan (four in the Champions League and four in Serie A) with just 339 minutes accumulated, not helped by having repeated bouts of muscle fatigue.

He has started just two games under Stefano Pioli thus far and his performances have not been entirely convincing. Despite this, Dest will be at the Qatar World Cup after he was included in the 26-man squad by the United States, though it seems at present his future at club level will not be at Milan or Barca.

The Catalan side signed the full-back from Ajax for €21m plus another €5m in bonuses, and he played 72 games with the Barcelona first team.
