Of all the sides at the top of the Premier League, Chelsea feel like the outfit that may have the most decisions to make between now and the end of the transfer window.

Dembele has “no desire” for Chelsea

According to Foot Mercato (h/t Sport Witness ), Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele is happy to stay at the club.

The forward’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the club have said they will attempt to move him on before the window closes.

However, it’s reported that Dembele has “no desire to leave this winter to Chelsea or anywhere else” and he will try to force his way back into the team at the Camp Nou between now and the end of the campaign.

Dembele signed for Barcelona in 2017, becoming one of the most expensive players in history in the process. However, his time in Catalonia has been savaged by injury issues.

De Ligt on the cards

According to Calciomercato (h/t Sport Witness ), Juventus are reportedly ready to cash in on defender Matthijs de Ligt.

The Italian giants look set to complete the big-money signing of Dusan Vlahovic from Fiorentina and it’s said they will need to sell players to cover the cost of the Serbia sharpshooter.

In the report it’s said De Ligt “represents the precious and most coveted piece on the international market” and he has admirers in the form of Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The Blues are said to have already “started the offensive” in their effort to sign the 22-year-old, who only moved to the Turin club in 2019. De Ligt is noted to have a €125 million (£104 million) in his current contract.

Blues unlikely to move for full-back

According to Matt Law of the Daily Telegraph , Chelsea are looking increasingly unlikely to sign a full-back in this window.

When Ben Chilwell – out for the season – and Reece James were missing due to injury, there were some reports indicating the Blues would look to add another option at right or left-back.

However, James’ recovery to full fitness is said to have gone quicker than expected, potentially easing the availability issues on the flanks.

“Sure talks will continue over various possibilities and doors will remain open but it wouldn’t surprise me at all now if Chelsea don’t sign a wing-back/full-back before the transfer window shuts,” said Law. “James will be back after the break and [Tuchel] has shown he can adapt.”
