The Stamford Bridge outfit could be busy in the January transfer window, with Thomas Tuchel keen on a winger and set to try and swap Timo Werner with a Bayern Munich star
Chelsea’s Timo Werner has struggled since his arrival at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues signed the German forward from RB Leipzig for around £48m in 2020 after he lit up the Bendesliga with his goal-scoring exploits.
Werner netted an impressive 28 goals in his final season in Germany and was linked with clubs from across Europe before eventually opting to move to Stamford Bridge.
But he’s struggled to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League and is already being linked with his next transfer, with the likes of Barcelona said to be keeping tabs on him.
But Chelsea could try a sensational swap with Bayern Munich to offload him, according to the latest reports.
The Blues have also found out just how they can land Federico Chiesa, while Liverpool are said to have moved on one of their defensive targets.

According to Spanish publication El Nacional [via Metro ], the Blues had wanted the playr as a replacement for Antonio Rudiger, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
But they may have a battle on their hands to tie-up the deal, with Liverpool said to be ready to double his wages if he moves to Anfield.
Chiesa conditions set
Chelsea have learned exactly how they can land the signature of Federico Chiesa.
Thomas Tuchel is said to be a big fan of the Italy winger and would be keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
And with his club Juventus currently struggling in seventh place in Serie A, they may have the opportunity to bring him in.
If Juve miss out on Champions League football next season, Chiesa’s sale is reportedly on the cards in order to balance the books according to La Gazzetta dello Sport [via Football Italia ].
The Italian giants would reportedly miss out on around €80m if they fail to qualify, and so could be forced to sanction the sale of their star man, the report adds.
Audacious Werner swap planned
The Blues could make a sensational bid to swap Timo Werner for Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski, it is reported.
When picking up his Ballon d’Or award earlier this week Lionel Messi said the Polish striker should be handed the award for 2020 following his incredible goalscoring exploits for the Bavarians.
And according to The Transfer Window podcast [via Football.London ] Lewandowski has been offered to the Blues by his agent.
Ian McGarry told The Transfer Window podcast: “It is certainly the case that he (Pini Zahavi) has offered Lewandowski to Chelsea and Granovskaia.
“A move which could include Werner going to Bayern. The prospect for Tuchel/Werner is appealing and is being discussed.”
