It was a frustrating game for the Blues as United sat deep and soaked up pressure before taking the lead through Jadon Sancho’s first Premier League goal for the Red Devils.

But Chelsea were later awarded a penalty after Aaron Wan-Bissaka was adjudged to have fouled Thiago Silva, and Jorginho made no mistake from the spot to equalise.

But their inability to break their opponents down may hint that more attacking reinforcements are needed in January, with the club continuing to be linked with bringing Eden Hazard back to Stamford Bridge.

Thomas Tuchel is also said to have okayed a huge bid for an Italy international, while a Barcelona player could be on the way as well.

£84m Chiesa bid ‘approved’

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is said to have personally approved the club’s plans to bid £84m for Italy winger Federico Chiesa.

Italian journalist Enzo Bucchioni claims work has now begun behind-the-scenes to make the deal happen in January.

He said: “Chelsea have decided to take action and offer €84million for Federico Chiesa.

“Evidently seeing him play twice closely has removed the last doubts and Tuchel gave the OK and the operation has officially started through intermediaries.”
