The Stamford Bridge outfit may have to make signings during the January transfer window with several Blues players yet to commit their long-term futures to the club
Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side could need defensive reinforcements come January.
The club’s struggles to tie a number of current defenders down to long-term contracts has been well documented and could mean the club need to bring in fresh faces in the new year.
Antonio Rudiger is one of the Blues players who could be on their way out of Stamford Bridge.
It means a new centre-back may be needed, with the club now said to have a Barcelona star ‘in their sights’.
They could also be set to land one of football’s hottest properties, with one of their main rivals for defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni reported to have decided the Frenchman is too expensive for them to pursue a deal.
Here are all the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.

Rudiger ‘to go’
Antonio Rudiger now intends to leave when his contract expires next summer, it has been reported.
The Blues are said to have offered the defender a new deal worth £140,000 per week, but Rudiger is holding out for closer to £200,000 per week.
According to Goal [via Football Espana ], Real Madrid have made Rudiger their ‘prime’ defensive target and could bring him in for a free transfer next summer.
Barca star ‘in sights’
The Blues are said to be chasing the signing of Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo.
Spanish news outlet Sport [via Sport Witness ] reports that Chelsea ‘have him in their sights’ and are ‘ready to take the step next summer’.
Manchester United have also been reported as holding an interest in the player in the last few days, although Thomas Tuchel is said to be keen on landing the player’s signature.
Araujo’s current contract with Barcelona runs out in 2023 so could be available for a cut-price deal next summer.
Italian giants Juventus are reported to have dropped out of the race to sign French defensive midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
Tchouameni has been in fine form for his club Monaco this season and also impressed for his country during World Cup qualifiers.
Scouts from across Europe are said to have been watching him, but Calciomercato reports that Juventus have decided Tchouameni ‘costs too much’.
The Italian side are said to prefer a loan deal for the midfielder, although because Monaco aren’t keen on a temporary move they will have to ‘turn towards other market goals in midfield’.
