Barcelona: Growing belief in Argentina that Messi will go to PSG to play with his ‘friends’

With the news that Lionel Messi has left Barcelona, his club of 21 years, shocking the world, everybody wants to know why, where he will go next and what the future holds for the football genius.

Many Argentinians believe that Messi plans on joining Paris Saint-Germain to be with fellow Argentine’s Leandro Paredes and Angel Di Maria, as well as ex-teammate at Barcelona, Neymar.

“I believe that Messi’s next club will be in France, at Paris Saint-Germain, because Paredes and Neymar, his friends are there,” Roberto Gonzalez told EFE.

“With [Marco] Verrati also there, they are going to have a really strong team, and surely they must win the Champions League, something that PSG have been missing.”

Fellow Argentinian Oscar Giraldez seemed to believe the same.

“I believe they [Barcelona] didn’t treat him well. They didn’t treat him how he deserved. They didn’t bring in the players that he wanted”, he said.

“For me, Paris Saint-Germain will be next as he has friends there, Neymar, Paredes for example. I think he will go there.”

Another Argentinian, Natalia Burzio, was more concerned about how Messi‘s departure affected one other player in particular.

“Above all else, his [Messi’s] teammates are going to have to stay strong. I believe [Sergio] Kun Aguero is one of the worst affected”, she said.

News of the forward’s departure has gone viral with his name dominating headlines everywhere.

Amidst all the news, Neymar has reportedly even offered his No.10 jersey as persuasion to tempt Messi to PSG, after Manchester City recently gave their No.10 shirt to new signing Jack Grealish.
