Barcelona: Do Barcelona currently have their worst starting line-up in the last 15 years?

Following Barcelona‘s 3-0 defeat to Bayern Munich on Tuesday night to begin their 2021/22 Champions League campaign, the squad has come under question for their performance.

The Catalan club boast such a rich history, as since the 2007/08 season they have won the LaLiga Santander title eight times and the Champions League on three occasions.

But in the last couple of years, the quality of Barcelona‘s squad has dropped significantly, suffering big defeats in games where they would traditionally be favourites and making many fans unhappy.

With names like Dani Alves, Carles Puyol, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Andres Iniesta, Xavi Hernandez, David Villa, Luis Suarez and, not to forget, Lionel Messi all having shone in the last 15 years, the current Barcelona starting line-up doesn’t intimidate the opposition in the way it used to.

We have taken a look and compared each Barcelona starting line-up from the 2007/08 campaign to the current season.
