Barcelona: Braithwaite operation a success

Martin Braithwaite‘s surgery on his left knee on Thursday was a success, Barcelona have confirmed.

The striker suffered the injury in the Blaugrana‘s third match of the season against Getafe.

Despite not having confirmed how long Braithwaite will be out of action for, Barcelona originally estimated that he would spend three to four months away from the pitch.

Now, following the surgery, the Catalan club will make an assessment regarding how long Braithwaite will be on the sidelines.

Braithwaite originally attempted to treat the injury conservatively, but it didn’t go to plan and he was forced to undergo surgery on his knee.

The Danish international has joined the long list of injured Barcelona forwards, with Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Aguero all currently unavailable for selection.

When Barcelona faced Bayern Munich on Tuesday, September 14, Koeman opted for Memphis Depay and new arrival Luuk de Jong in attack.
