Barcelona: Barcelona deny meeting with Lewandowski’s representatives

Barcelona want to sign Robert Lewandowski and the Polish international wants to sign for the Catalan club.

Talks between the two parties began months ago and a position seems likely to come. But nothing has been wrapped up yet.

According to Jijantes, his agent, Pini Zahavi, was in Barcelona on Wednesday, but the Blaugrana have denied that there was a meeting.

The player, who has a contract with Bayern Munich until June 2023, has already expressed his desire to play at the Camp Nou. A few days ago he said that he could have played his last game for the Bavarian side.

Decided

“I will not sign a new contract,” Lewandowski said after Bayern’s game against Wolfsburg. “We have to find the best solution for both parties.

“I told the club that if an offer comes in, then we have to think about it. It’s also what is best for the club.

“It’s quite possible that this was my last game with Bayern. I can’t say for sure, but it’s possible it was. We want to find the best solution for me and for the club.”

Barcelona have recognised that Lewandowski is one of their targets this summer, but also that the deal will by no means be easy. The Catalan club’s financial situation does not allow for big spending this year.

In any case, the Catalan club have denied that they have met with the agent of the highly-rated Bayern player.
