Sergio Aguero won’t be leaving Barcelona this summer. The Argentine forward is determined to play at the Camp Nou despite now knowing that he won’t share the dressing room with friend and international teammate Lionel Messi.
He has only just arrived at the club and isn’t considering another change, despite reports that Messi’s exit would cause some collateral damage, specifically Aguero looking to leave before the market’s closure.
“Let’s hope we play together,” Aguero said after he joined on a free transfer from Manchester City. “He’s a pleasure to play with and it gives me pride to do so. I know him a lot and I think he’ll stay.”
Aguero joined the Catalans earlier this summer, after his City contract ended on June 30. One of the reasons behind his choice to move to Barcelona was to play alongside his close friend Messi, which now won’t happen.
The pair are inseparable at international level with Argentina, but now they will once again be playing for different club sides, having never even had the chance to train together in Catalonia.
