Sergio Aguero ‘open’ to blockbuster Premier League transfer amid Man City uncertainty

Sergio Aguero is reportedly open to a sensational move to another team in England at the end of the season as his contract at Manchester City nears its expiry date.

The 32-year-old forward has suffered a frustrating campaign at the Etihad which has been marred by injuries and off-field issues.

And he has managed just four starts in the Premier League this season, with only one goal to his name in the division.

Aguero appeared angry at the end of City’s Champions League second leg win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday, and was overheard complaining to a backroom member of staff that his teammates “don’t pass me the ball.”

It looks almost certain that he will depart when his contract ends in June, and Barcelona are the team that have been most strongly linked with his signature.

But according to The Sun, Aguero would strongly consider any offers from other Premier League clubs.

It is believed the player has always enjoyed plying his trade at the top level in England, and feels he still has unfinished business following this year’s disappointment.

Due to his affiliation with City, Manchester United and Liverpool could almost certainly be ruled out of the running for his signing.

But it would be intriguing to see if the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham or Arsenal could be tempted to make a move, and they may feel Aguero represents good value considering they would not have to pay a transfer fee for his services.

There is also still a chance City could make a late bid to keep Aguero for at least one more season, and Pep Guardiola recently admitted it would be difficult to see him leave.

“Sergio is a legend here,” he said in an interview with BeIN Sport. “He is a lovely person and what he has done here is incredible and we will decide what is best for both parties.”
