Premier League clubs get start of next season PUSHED BACK to August 14 over fears of burnout, after initial plans placed the opener just four weeks after Euro 2020 final

- Current season did not start until September 12 because of Covid-19 pandemic
- This season has seen fixtures condensed into a shorter space of time
- Next season will begin over a month after the European Championship final
The 2021-22 Premier League season will begin on the weekend of August 14.
After a condensed 2020-21 campaign due to the coronavirus pandemic, the league announced it will revert to its usual starting slot in the second week of August.
The season will conclude on 22 May 2022, with all 10 games kicking off simultaneously.
