Barcelona star and Manchester United target Frenkie de Jong is willing to leave nearly £6million in unpaid wages on the table to clinch a move to Manchester City, reports SunSport’s Phil Thomas.
As SunSport recently revealed, incoming United manager Erik ten Hag wants De Jong but City boss Pep Guardiola is also a big fan.
Barca are still fighting their way out of a financial crisis, which saw players defer 40 per cent of their salary for an entire year.
And the Netherlands international is still owed a bumper figure, which he could waive away to make a move happen.
Meanwhile, Wolves star Ruben Neves is set to leave the club this season with United and Barcelona keen.
However, Sport are reporting Neves is close to agreeing a deal with Barca ahead of the summer transfer window.
The midfielder’s agent is Jorge Mendes and he is playing a big part in the ongoing negotiations.

And Juventus are ready to offer Paul Pogba an £8million-a-year payday to re-sign him in the summer transfer window.
That is according to the Daily Mirror, who report that Pogba, who is out of contract at the end of the campaign, will be offered a mega deal by former club Juve.

Finally, the Red Devils have received a transfer boost in their bid to sign Benfica star Darwin Nunez as his club closes in on signing a replacement.
According to The Athletic, the Portuguese outfit are lining up a swoop for Stuttgart star Sasa Kalajdzic.
The Lisbon giants are expecting to lose United target Nunez this summer and ideally want a deal completed as soon as possible to allow them plenty of time to fill the void.
Now moves are being made to bring Kalajdzic to replace their striker, who has also been linked with Arsenal
