Fabregas on underrated teammates, his biggest disappointment and Xavi vs Iniesta

Former Barcelona and Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has been taking questions about his career from fans, including one that asked him to choose between Andres Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez.

The World Cup winner, currently playing for Monaco, made the most of some downtime during the European Championship to engage with supporters in a Twitter Q&A session.

Asked to pick one of Xavi or Iniesta, Fabregas‘ answer was simple: “Mom or Dad?” he said.

Fabregas had a lot of talent from an early age, but he believes that there are some complications that come from that.

“It’s difficult,” Fabregas said.

“Because you’re just a kid. But with passion and confidence, as well as quality, you can achieve things you never dreamt of.”

After heaping praise on former teammates Jack Wilshere and Alexander Hleb, he was asked about Arsene Wenger‘s greatest strength as a coach.

“He has too many good traits to choose just one,” Fabregas said.

“The quality of his training and his willingness to always attack and play beautiful football.

“He was unique and it was always done on a limited budget.”

The Spain international had a lot of good times at Barcelona, but one memory stands out above the rest as his best.

“My debut against Real Madrid at the Camp Nou,” Fabregas said as his favourite memory for the club.

“To win the Supercopa de Espana. Unforgettable.”

Despite the good times he enjoyed there, Barcelona were responsible for one of his lowest moments in football as well. Asked about his biggest disappointment as a player, he was clear.

“Losing the Champions League final in 2006,” Fabregas said.

“We [Arsenal] deserved to win it.”
