Mikel Arteta will be hoping for a response when his side take on Everton on Monday after Arsenal were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United last Thursday.
A win would move Arsenal up to fifth – ahead of rivals Tottenham – and just one adrift of the Champions League spots.
Arteta’s Gunners spent more than any other side in the Premier League in the summer, and, after a slow start, the new signings are beginning to gel together as each game passes.
But that won’t stop Arteta thinking ahead to any potential new additions in the January window, which is now less than four weeks away.
Here, Mirror Football takes a look at the latest gossip from the Emirates.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a move to sign Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Spanish outlet Fichajes says the La Liga giants are both in contention to strike a deal with the 32-year-old.
Aubameyang continues to face an uncertain future at the Emirates after reports arose linking him with a move away from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
The Arsenal captain started in Arsenal’s recent defeat against Manchester United last Thursday and Aubameyang currently has a deal at the club which runs until June 2023.
Zakaria talks ‘underway’
The Gunners are reportedly in talks with Denis Zakaria’s agents over a potential deal to sign the Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder on a free transfer next summer.
Sport Witness, via Football London, claims that Zakaria has a desire to make the Premier League his next move.
Who should Arsenal try and sign in January? Let us know in the comments section.
Zakaria – who has just turned 25 – has a contract which runs until the end of June, meaning he will be able to negotiate freely with other clubs from January onwards over a pre-contract.
But Arsenal will not be alone in their pursuit of the Swiss defensive midfielder, with the same report claiming that the likes of Inter, Roma, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are all rumoured to be interested in signing Zakaria.
Gunners lose out to Leeds
Arsenal have missed out on a deal to sign Espanyol striker Mateo Joseph Fernandez, according to reports.
Daily Mail claims Leeds have won the race for the 18-year-old striker, who will join Marcelo Bielsa’s side on January 1 after increasing their initial offer of £430,000.
The Gunners were reportedly keen on signing Fernandez, alongside several other major clubs from around Europe including Barcelona, Manchester City and Liverpool.
The striker is said to have had a release clause of £1.3m – but was out of contract in the summer – which prompted Leeds to make a move.
Fernandez – who was born in Spain to two English parents – has been part of Espanyol’s academy for several years.
